Thomas Pierpoint has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Thomas is currently working at NOVEC as the Vice President of Operations. Prior to that, they held the role of Vice President of Engineering at Austin Energy from 2019 to 2022. From 2018 to 2019, Thomas worked in strategic consulting for various Electric Utility and Energy companies as well as government organizations like the Congressional Budget Office, the Department of Energy, and FERC. At Exelon, they led a merger team to integrate technologies at Pepco Holdings with Exelon and served as the leader for the Emergency Incident Command Team at Pepco. Additionally, they held roles such as Division Manager - Substations, Manager - Business & Technology, and Program Manager - Control Center/Electric System Operations at Pepco from 1992 to 2002.

Thomas also has experience in business and technology consulting at Information Analysis Incorporated from 1989 to 1992 and as a Project Engineer at L3Harris Technologies from 1988 to 1989. Thomas began their career as a Project Engineer in the Energy Management Program at Pepco from 1984 to 1988 and as an Electronics Engineer at Eastern Virginia Medical School from 1982 to 1984, specifically in the Microsurgical Research Center.

Thomas Pierpoint has a diverse education history. Thomas obtained an Advanced Certificate for Executives in Management, Innovation and Technology from MIT Sloan School of Management in 2018. In the same year, they also completed an Executive Certificate in Design Thinking & Innovation from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
