Jenny Coutts Rd (Dang)

Jenny (Dang) Coutts, RD has a diverse work experience in the field of nutrition and dietetics. Jenny is currently serving as the President and Administrator of the Penn State Nutrition and Dietetics Alumni Society since July 2021. In addition, they are a Member Events Coordinator for the DC Metro Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics since June 2023.

Prior to these roles, Jenny held various positions with the DC Metro Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, including Treasurer, Treasurer Elect, Secretary, and Volunteer, demonstrating their commitment and involvement in the organization.

Jenny also has experience as the Co-Chair of the Healthy Community Action Team Arlington since October 2020. In 2018, Jenny served as the Nutrition Coordinator of Head Start and Early Head Start at Northern Virginia Family Service, showcasing their expertise in community nutrition.

Jenny has further contributed to the field as the Communications Manager at Anu Healthy You and as a Food Policy Associate at Food Directions LLC. Jenny gained practical experience as a Dietetic Intern at Virginia Tech and as an Intern Liaison at the Northern Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Additionally, Jenny has academic experience, having worked as a Teaching Assistant and a Student Sustainability Advisory Council Member at Penn State University. Jenny has also interned as a Nutrition Educator at Farm Truck Foods.

Jenny (Dang) Coutts, RD completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences, with a focus on Community Nutrition and Food Security, from Penn State University. This course of study took place from 2012 to 2015. In 2016 and 2017, they participated in an Internship Program in Nutrition and Dietetics at Virginia Tech. Prior to their university education, Jenny attended Mt. Lebanon High School, graduating in the period from 2008 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Jenny has obtained several certifications. Jenny became a Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration in July 2017. Moreover, they acquired the ServSafe certification in March 2014.
