Julia Oakley, LCSW, has extensive experience in mental health and social work, currently serving as a Bilingual Mental Health Therapist and Coordinator for the Program for Survivors of Torture & Severe Trauma at Northern Virginia Family Service since March 2015. Prior roles include Project Manager for the Violence Against Women & Girls Program at Sauti Yetu and Clinical Social Work Intern at Sanctuary for Families, where Julia provided counseling and co-facilitated support groups for domestic violence survivors. An educational background includes a dual master's degree in Social Work and International Affairs from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in Peace & Justice Studies and French from Wellesley College. Julia's previous positions also encompass teaching assistance, program evaluation, and direct outreach efforts to vulnerable populations.
