James Wencel

Vice President Public Finance at Northland Securities, Inc.

James Wencel has a diverse work experience. James started at Bad Axe Public Schools as a Superintendent in 2002 and worked there until 2010. James then moved to Hutchinson, Shockey, Erley & Co. as an Associate Director, where they primarily worked with school districts in Michigan underwriting bond issues and refunding bonds to save taxpayers money. In 2010, they also joined Huntington Securities, Inc. as an Associate Director. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Vice President Public Finance at Northland Securities. Additionally, they were the Former Head Football Coach at Owendale Gagetown High School since 2011.

James Wencel holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from The University of Olivet, which they completed from 1971 to 1975. Prior to this, they attended Chelsea High School from 1968 to 1971, where they completed their college prep studies. Following their undergraduate studies, James pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Central Michigan University, which they completed from 1978 to 1983.
