Lesley Kalan is corporate vice president and chief strategy and development officer for Northrop Grumman Corporation, a leader in global security.

Kalan is responsible for leading and executing Northrop Grumman’s public policy, regulatory and government affairs activities. In this role, she guides the company’s interactions with the executive branch, Congress, and state and local officials.

In addition, she leads domestic business development and commercial partnerships and is responsible for developing, aligning, and implementing corporate strategy to support customer requirements and to shape continued profitable growth.

Prior to her current role, Kalan served as corporate vice president, government relations. She also previously led Northrop Grumman’s legislative advocacy efforts as vice president, legislative affairs, where she guided the company’s relationships and strategic interactions with Congress as well as state and local governments.

Before joining Northrop Grumman, Kalan was a vice president at The Cohen Group, a strategic advisory firm to diverse multinational and Fortune 100 firms. Preceding her work with the Cohen Group, Kalan served as a professional staff member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations Defense Subcommittee. She also served as a Presidential Management Fellow in the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense and is a recipient of the U.S. Navy Superior Public Service Award.

Kalan earned a master's degree in public administration and policy from the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy at Florida State University and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of South Florida. She serves on the board of directors for the National Defense Industrial Association, the Air Force Association, the Public Affairs Council and the Wolf Trap Foundation. She is also a Center for Strategic and International Studies Women's Global Leadership Fellow.
