Senior System Engineer at Northstrat

Jennie Womble has extensive work experience in the field of system engineering and project management. Jennie started their career at Virginia Tech as a Research Assistant in the Spatial Data Analysis Laboratory in 1986. From there, they joined Daniel H. Wagner Associates as a Software Analyst, where they assisted in the design and implementation of various projects, including Naval Research Laboratory Ocean Surveillance and Strategic Defensive Initiative test beds.

In 1989, Womble joined ITT Systems as a Senior Software Engineer and Project Manager. Here, they developed software integrating Large Area Tracking Range for aircraft tracking exercises. Jennie also integrated command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence systems used by the Navy and Army, and established a Geographic Information System and a 3D fly-through for acoustic systems.

Following their time at ITT Systems, Womble worked at Exelis as a Senior Systems Engineer. Here, they served as the lead System Engineer for Signal Sentry, a GPS Interference Detection and Geolocation System. Jennie played a vital role in ensuring the security of GPS infrastructure, particularly during the Super Bowl in New Jersey.

From 2014 to 2023, Womble worked at Harris Corporation and L3Harris Technologies as a Senior System Engineer. In this role, they designed and developed software systems, implemented efficient and personalized service desk support, and established a Service Desk to support imagery exploitation tools for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

Currently, Womble is working at Northstrat Incorporated as a Senior System Engineer, applying their expertise in system engineering. Jennie is also certified as a SAFe Agilist, PMP, ITIL, and SecurityPlus, showcasing their commitment to professional development and industry best practices.

Jennie Womble holds a Master of Science degree in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, which they obtained from Virginia Tech between 1985 and 1987. Prior to that, they also completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management at Virginia Tech from 1981 to 1985. Additionally, they hold several professional certifications, including SAFe Agilist, PMP (Project Management Professional) from PMI (Project Management Institute), ITIL Foundations, ITIL Service Design, ITIL Service Operations from APM (APM), and Security+ from CompTIA.
