Matarage Karunatilake

Matarage Karunatilake is currently serving as a Clerical Associate at Northwell Health since July 2024, where responsibilities include coordinating admissions and bed assignments. Simultaneously, Matarage has been a Direct Support Professional/Mentor at AHRC New York City since September 2022, providing tutoring and mentorship to students with disabilities. Matarage participated in the CSTEP Spring Internship Program at the State University of New York College of Optometry in June 2024, which included professional development and clinical observations. A Low Vision Intern at Lighthouse Guild from March to June 2024 involved assisting with vision care procedures and patient training. Previous experience includes clerical work as an Office Associate/Intern for the Liberty Partnerships Program - NYSED and a Clerical/Patient Assistance Intern at Richmond University Medical Center. Matarage is pursuing a BSc in Biology with a Minor in Humanities Honors at the City University of New York-College of Staten Island, graduating in May 2025, following a high school diploma from Susan E Wagner High School.
