Cheryl Wendel

Cheryl Wendel has over 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on human resources. Cheryl is currently serving as the Area Director of Human Resources at Northwood Hospitality, overseeing multiple locations. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Human Resources at The Ballantyne, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Charlotte. Cheryl previously worked at Two Roads Hospitality as an Area Director of Human Resources for four years and at Destination Hotels as the Area Director of Human Resources for eight years. Cheryl also gained experience as the Regional Director of Human Resources at ARAMARK and the Human Resources Director at Hilton Hotels. Earlier in their career, Cheryl worked as the Director of Human Resources at Beacon Hospitality Group and as the Personnel Director at Wychmere Harbor Hotel. Cheryl began their career in various F&B management positions at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Corporation. Throughout their career, Cheryl has demonstrated expertise in human resources management within the hospitality industry.

Cheryl Wendel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in the School of Hotel Administration from Cornell University from 1981 to 1985. In 2000, they obtained a Certificate of Human Resources from Duke University. Cheryl also holds additional certifications including SPHR Certification and is a certified Achieve Global Trainer and Pillars Certified Trainer through Freeman Group.
