Tawanda Chitapa has a diverse and extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, specifically in the field of Epic implementation and consulting. Tawanda started their career as an Implementations Project Specialist at Epic in 2005. From there, they worked as a Clinical Documentation Improvement Consultant at Sutter Health, a Senior Epic Ambulatory EMR Consultant at Stanford University Medical Center, and a Subcontractor for Epic Ambulatory Implementation Project Lead at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. Tawanda then served as a Subcontractor for Epic Ambulatory Optimization and Upgrade Consultant at the University of Miami Health System before moving to Inova Health System as a Subcontractor for the Epic Ambulatory Implementation Team/Project Lead. They also worked as an Epic Implementation Project Consultant at Lehay Health. Most recently, Tawanda held leadership roles at Norton Healthcare, serving as the Director of Clinical Value Reporting and currently as the System Director of Business Intelligence, Clinical Value & Healthcare Analytics. Despite these diverse roles and experiences, Tawanda has consistently been involved in Epic software implementation and optimization.

Tawanda Chitapa has a Master of Science degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Western Kentucky University, which was obtained from 2003 to 2005. Additionally, Tawanda Chitapa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Western Kentucky University, completed from 1998 to 2002. Tawanda Chitapa also has additional certifications in healthcare information and management systems from HIMSS, as well as certifications in Epic Ambulatory EMR and Epic Order Transmittal from Epic.
