Michael Burkett

Michael Burkett has a diverse work experience in the field of design and technology. Michael currently serves as the Head of Design at Notional since February 2021. Prior to this, they were the Co-Founder, CEO, and Head of Design at Accomplice.Design, a UX design agency in San Francisco specializing in Blockchain and fintech products for startups, from January 2019 onwards.

Before that, Michael worked at Tradecraft from April 2015 to January 2019 as the Primary Instructor and Product Design Track Co-lead. Michael created the curriculum and mentored early-career designers while also providing consultations to over 50 startups for student projects.

Michael co-founded Team Machine in October 2016, a company that developed predictive analytics for teams. As a Co-Founder and Designer, they implemented custom-built machine learning models to provide recommendations for enterprise agile software development teams, improving their agility health scores.

Michael served as the Lead Product Designer at Handle from August 2013 to March 2015. In this role, they led a team of designers and user researchers, focused on understanding customer needs and preferences, and led all design efforts for various platforms.

Prior to that, Michael worked at Adobe as a Senior User Experience Designer from November 2011 to August 2013. Michael led the product design for Adobe's conversion rate optimization suite of tools, including the overhaul of the flagship product 'Target'.

Michael began their career in 2001 as the Creative Director and Co-founder of Accomplice Design, a design studio that delivered online brand and usability improvements for Fortune 500 and SMB's. Michael worked there till May 2006.

Michael also held positions at Raptr as a User Experience Designer from June 2008 to June 2010, and at Rexee, Inc. as a UI/Interaction Designer in 2006 for an unspecified duration.

Michael Burkett attended the Maryland Institute College of Art from 1996 to 1999, where they studied Fine and Studio Arts. There is no information about whether or not they obtained a degree, or if they pursued any further education at the same institution.
