Chief Scientific Officer at Notley

JC Neel is the current Chief Scientific Officer at Notley. Prior to this, JC held the position of Scientist at Neuralink, where they established early in vivo proof of concept for next generation brain-machine interface technology using living electrodes. JC also developed microelectrode biocoating technology to limit cortical tissue inflammation following brain insertions in rodent models.

From July 2016 to July 2018, JC was the Chief Scientific Officer at Koniku. During their time there, JC contributed to early expert network development and communication. They also validated in vitro DNA solid synthesis steps and developed improved processes. JC helped raise the initial $2M for DNA Script when they were the Biochemistry Lead from August 2015 to February 2016.

JC completed their Doctorate Researcher at McGill University from January 2007 to January 2014. They then went on to UCSF as a Postdoctoral Scholar from January 2014 to January 2015.

Jc Neel studied at Janson de Sailly before completing a BSc at an unknown institution. They then went on to study for an MSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at AgroParisTech before completing another MSc in Health Sciences - Biochemistry at L'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers. Finally, they attained their PhD in Molecular oncology from McGill University.
