Jean-Charles Neel

Jean-Charles NEEL has a diverse work experience in the fields of biotechnology and scientific research. Jean-Charles is currently working as a Startup and Venture Advisor, where they advise and runs diligence for pre-Seed and Seed stage startups. Jean-Charles also provides consulting services on technology, fundraising, development strategy, and partnerships for startups.

Prior to this, Jean-Charles worked as the Chief Scientific Officer at Notley, where they focused on investing in neurotech, biosensors, cell/gene therapies, and anti-aging technologies. Jean-Charles also provided consulting services to biotech/healthtech startups for strategy, fundraising, and partnerships.

Jean-Charles also has experience working at Neuralink, where they were a Member of Technical Staff. Jean-Charles played a key role in establishing early proof of concept for brain-machine interface technology and developed microelectrode biocoating technology. Jean-Charles was a founding member of the living electrode team and was involved in a patent application.

Furthermore, Jean-Charles worked at Koniku as the Chief Scientific Officer and Biotech Lead. During their time there, they held responsibilities in the research and development of the company's technologies.

In addition, Jean-Charles has research experience at DNA Script, UCSF, and McGill University. At DNA Script, they worked as the Biochemistry Lead and contributed to the start-up fundraising process and network development. At UCSF, they served as a Postdoctoral Scholar and conducted research on microRNA editing and its impact on cellular pathways. At McGill University, they worked as a Doctorate Researcher and Assistant Researcher, focusing on microRNA involvement in breast cancer development and parthenogenetic cloning in a swine model, respectively.

Jean-Charles NEEL has a BSc in an unspecified field of study from Janson de Sailly, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003. Jean-Charles then pursued an MSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from AgroParisTech, which they completed from 2002 to 2006. In 2003 to 2005, they also pursued an MSc in Health Sciences - Biochemistry from L'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers. Lastly, they obtained a PhD in Molecular Oncology from McGill University, which they completed between 2007 and 2013.
