Joe Mahfouz Hatem

Joe Mahfouz Hatem is an experienced Arabic type designer at JH Fonts since January 2003, specializing in Arabic and Latin font design as well as existing fonts repair and conversion for Apple and Windows platforms. In addition to this role, Joe has been an instructor at Notre Dame University since February 2008, teaching courses in type design focused on both Latin and Arabic scripts. Previous positions include senior sales engineer at Outline, where sales of pre-press equipment and software took place, QC/support engineer at Escher-Grad Technologies, handling image setters' manufacturing and customer support, and technical manager at Computer Information Systems, focusing on customer support for HP PCs and peripherals. Joe holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, achieved between 1978 and 1983.
