Professor Of Sport And Exercise Biomechanics at Nottingham Trent University

Jon Wheat is a Professor of Sport and Exercise Biomechanics at Nottingham Trent University since March 2024. Prior to this role, Jon Wheat has held various academic positions at Sheffield Hallam University beginning in September 2003, including Associate Dean of Research and Innovation for the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences, and interim Assistant Dean of Research and Innovation for the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing. Additionally, Jon Wheat served as Head of Research and Scholarly Activity in the Department of Sport and Physical Activity, Reader and Deputy Director of the Centre for Sports Engineering Research, as well as Principal Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer in the Department of Sport. Educationally, Jon Wheat earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sport and Exercise Biomechanics from Sheffield Hallam University (2000-2005) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Sport and Exercise Science from The Manchester Metropolitan University (1997-2000).
