Sarah Askin is a Principal Lecturer in Social Work, Care and Community at Nottingham Trent University, where Sarah has also held the titles of Senior Lecturer and Lecturer since February 2020. In addition, Sarah serves as an External Examiner at Teesside University since April 2023. Previously, Sarah worked as a Senior Practitioner and Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professional at Nottingham City Council from March 2014 to February 2020, and as a Care Management Officer at Leicester City Council for a brief period in 2014. Early in her career, Sarah taught English as a Foreign Language in a primary school in Hong Kong with the Chatteris Educational Foundation from August 2009 to July 2010. Sarah's academic qualifications include a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Specialist Practice in Mental Health from the University of Birmingham, a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Leicester, and a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Leeds. Additionally, Sarah completed an Academic Professional Apprenticeship at Nottingham Trent University from January 2022 to September 2023.
