Jacob van der Velden

Jacob van der Velden is an experienced engineer currently serving as an Engineer in Training at Nova Scotia Power since June 2023. Jacob's career includes a role as a Customer Solutions Engineer at Eastlink from June 2022 to May 2023 and various co-op positions at InterTalk, where responsibilities included software development, quality assurance testing, and load testing. Jacob has also contributed to engineering projects at Nova Scotia Power, including enhancing wind turbine monitoring tools and tracking electrical load forecasting models. Prior experiences at Parks Canada and Halifax Citadel Society involved public engagement through interpretative tours and visitor services. Jacob earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Science with a Diploma in Engineering from Saint Mary's University.
