Farzanna Haffizulla

Founder/ Principal Investigator, Caribbean Diaspora Healthy Nutrition Outreach Project at Nova Southeastern University

Farzanna Haffizulla, MD MACP FAMWA has a diverse and extensive work experience. Currently, they hold several positions, including President-elect of the American Heart Association - South Florida and Board Member of the South Florida Leadership Board.

In 2017, Dr. Haffizulla joined Nova Southeastern University as the Founding Team Member and Assistant Dean for Community and Global Health. Farzanna also served as the Founder/Principal Investigator of the Caribbean Diaspora Healthy Nutrition Outreach Project, where they promoted and created culturally tailored health education for the Caribbean community.

Dr. Haffizulla has been actively involved with the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) since 2012. Farzanna served as the organization's Past President from 2014-2015 and focused on preventive medicine, healthy lifestyles, wellness, and work/life balance. Farzanna also held the roles of National President-elect and South Florida Chapter President at AMWA.

Additionally, Dr. Haffizulla has experience as a Physician/Owner of Dr. Farzanna Haffizulla/JFDOC P.L./HouseCallsMD.US, where they provided personalized care to patients in their homes. Farzanna also offered consulting services in information management, practice efficiency, and work/life balancing to other professionals in the community.

Furthermore, Dr. Haffizulla has held roles as a Board Member for the March of Dimes, Host/Anchor/Medical Correspondent for Mission Critical Health, and Physician Scientist and Full Board Member for Advarra (previously IRB Services). Farzanna also served as a National Delegate-Florida representative for the Vision 2020 national program at the Institute for Women's Health and Leadership- Drexel College of Medicine.

Lastly, Dr. Haffizulla has been involved in pre-med education as a Faculty member at American Heritage School and served as a Board Member for the American Diabetes Association - South Florida from 2018 to 2023.

Farzanna Haffizulla, MD MACP FAMWA completed their education in a chronological order. Farzanna first obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida from 1991 to 1995. Farzanna then pursued further studies and received a medical degree (M.D.) from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, with a focus on Medicine, from 1996 to 2000. Following this, they completed their Internal Medicine Residency at The Cleveland Clinic from 2000 to 2003.
