Samuel Kanu is a Venture Associate at Novastar Ventures. Prior to joining Novastar, Samuel worked as a strategy consultant at Dalberg, where they wrote several chapters in Nigeria’s 5-year National Economic Plan (2021-2025), co-authored a report on the impact of COVID-19 in Nigeria and possible solutions to increase economic resilience in nine sectors, co-managed the design of a 5-year impact investment plan for a West African country, identified and co-designed an investment strategy for a DFI, organized and co-facilitated bi-monthly meetings with leading public, private, and social sector actors to identify gaps in Nigeria’s COVID-19 response and design solutions, designed a multi-country strategy for a Fortune 500 company looking to drive revenue growth and job creation in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria, and wrote a memo to Nigeria’s COVID-19 Presidential Task Force on behalf of global social and philanthropic organizations which led public-private partnerships for COVID-19 responses.

Previously, Samuel worked as a Global Strategy Analyst at Sanofi and as a Private Equity Analyst at Yellowwoods Ventures Investments.

Samuel holds a degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
