Lisa Dunkle

Lisa Dunkle has extensive work experience in the field of clinical research and development. Lisa is currently serving as the Vice President of Clinical Research at Novavax Inc. Prior to this role, they worked as an Independent Consultant under their own company, Lisa M Dunkle, MD Consultant.

Before starting their consulting career, Dunkle held various leadership positions in the pharmaceutical industry. Lisa served as the Clinical Program Team Leader - Respiratory at Protein Sciences, a Sanofi Company from 2018 to 2020. Before that, they were the Chief Medical Officer and head of clinical development at Protein Sciences Corporation from 2011 to 2020.

Dunkle also gained experience in executive roles at Merck Research Laboratories (2009-2011), Schering-Plough Research Institute (2004-2009), and Achillion Pharmaceuticals (2000-2003). Lisa started their career at Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1989, where they served as the Executive Director of Antiviral Clinical Research. While at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Dunkle headed a team that designed and conducted Phase 2-4 clinical trials of antiviral agents.

In addition to their industry experience, Dunkle also worked as a Professor of Pediatrics and Microbiology at St. Louis University School of Medicine from 1976 to 1989.

Lisa Dunkle earned their A.B. in Biological Sciences from Wellesley College in 1968 before attending The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where they achieved an MD in Medicine in 1972.
