Vivek Shinde MD, MPH has a diverse work experience in the field of medicine and public health. Since 2015, they have worked at NOVAVAX INC, where they have held various leadership roles in clinical development for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). From 2011 to 2015, they served as a Director at GSK, leading projects in epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology for influenza and zoster vaccines. Prior to that, Dr. Shinde worked as a Medical Epidemiologist for the Global Influenza Program at the World Health Organization from 2009 to 2010. Vivek also gained experience with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a CDC Resident in preventive medicine and public health from 2008 to 2009. From 2006 to 2008, Dr. Shinde worked as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Vivek began their career in 2003 as a Resident in Internal Medicine at NYU Medical Center.
Dr. Vivek Shinde completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC San Diego in 1998. Vivek then pursued their medical studies at the University of California, San Francisco and obtained their MD degree in 2003. In 2001-2002, Dr. Shinde also earned a Master's in Public Health (MPH) with a focus on Epidemiology and International Public Health from The Johns Hopkins University.
