Joanne McInnerney has extensive work experience in Human Resources and talent management. Joanne started their career as a Research Assistant at Northern Illinois University and later worked as a Research Assistant at Pearson. Joanne joined The Home Depot, Inc. as a Senior Analyst in Organizational Effectiveness and was responsible for implementing human capital management tools. Joanne then moved on to National City Corporation as an HR Business Partner, where they led various HR initiatives and implemented cost-saving measures. Joanne also worked at AmTrust Bank as an HR Business Partner, where they successfully managed workforce reduction and implemented a flexible work schedule program. At Cleveland State University, they served as an Adhoc Instructor. Currently, they are working at Novelis as the VP of Human Resources for North America. In their role, they oversee talent management, succession planning, and HR functions. Joanne also previously held the position of VP of Human Resources for Europe at Novelis, where they managed the global talent management function and led the HR function for a $4B European region. Overall, Joanne has a diverse range of experience in HR and talent management.
Joanne McInnerney earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Northern Illinois University in 2002. Prior to that, they completed their M.A. in Industrial Organizational Psychology at the same institution from 1997 to 1999. Joanne holds a B.A. from Northern Illinois University, obtained between 1993 and 1997, with a major in Psychology and minors in Business and Art. Additionally, Joanne McInnerney obtained certifications from SHRM and HR Certification Institute - HRCI, specifically the SHRM-SCP in 2016 and the SPHR in 2014.
