Brian Dobson has worked in the engineering field since 2005. Brian began their career as a Student Mechanical Engineer at the University of Minnesota, where they worked on projects to improve energy efficiency for the university's buildings. In 2007, they joined BAE Systems as an Associate Mechanical Engineer, where they conducted shock and vibration testing and designed electrical packaging. In 2009, they joined Starkey Hearing Technologies as a Manager of Mechanical Engineering, where they led a team of sixteen mechanical engineers and designers to create first-class mechanical designs. Brian also held the role of Senior Component Quality Engineer, where they were responsible for electro-mechanical and transducer product quality from suppliers, manufacturing, and in the field. In 2016, they joined Clearity, LLC as Executive Director of R&D and Quality Systems, where they led product development teams to launch high-quality hearing aids for the direct-to-consumer and traditional hearing aid markets. Finally, in 2018, they founded Novidan, Inc., where they design, engineers, and manufactures products for the hard of hearing patient.
Brian Dobson obtained a Bachelor's of Aerospace Engineering & Mechanics from the University of Minnesota in 2008. Brian then obtained a Six Sigma Black Belt from ASQ in October 2011. Two years later, in July 2013, they obtained a Certified Scrum Master from Intertech. Finally, in 2012 they received a Master's of Science in Management of Technology from the University of Minnesota.
