Senior Programme Lead For NNF India Branch Office

Operations · Full-time · National Capital Territory of Delhi, India

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Programme Lead for the NNF India Branch Office in New Delhi. The role will be specifically dedicated to the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s India Engagement Plan and lead our ambitious and engaged team working from the office.

With the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s 2030 Strategy, the Foundation aims to increase international reach by developing, expanding, and structuring strategic collaboration with Indian and global partners to further leverage scientific capabilities to impact global problems within human health, sustainability, and life science ecosystems.

As Senior Programme Lead, you will support the Foundation’s initiatives in India in collaboration with programme areas in the NNF Copenhagen HQ and partners in India. You will scope and contextualize ideas, engage with stakeholders and ultimately develop and implement stand-alone grants and open calls to strengthen the Foundation’s portfolio.

You will join a global team of 19 colleagues within the Social and Humanitarian Programme area, and located in our offices in Copenhagen, Nairobi and New Delhi. You will report to the Director of Global Health Programmes. You will be based in New Delhi, India; however, frequent travel primarily in India will be required as part of the job. The Indian Branch Office is a newly established organisation, and we will continue to evolve and mature our virtual ways of working and leadership. You will be part of that journey.

NNF India is a fully owned company under the Novo Nordisk Foundation with its India Branch Office located at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The position will offer you a unique opportunity to work with a purpose-driven, philanthropic foundation with passionate and talented colleagues committed to improving people’s health and the sustainability of society and the planet.

The job
As Senior Programme Lead, you will both be responsible for driving strategic activities and projects with key stakeholders in India and be a team leader for our colleagues located in New Delhi.

You will work in project teams together with project members from various programme areas located at the Copenhagen Headquarter (HQ), leading relevant workstreams. Your key tasks will be to:

  • Contribute significantly to developing and implementing projects in India, providing expert scientific insight and enabling our partners to mobilize their professional fields of expertise even more effectively
  • Lead the coordination and partnering with partner institutions, including research institutions, universities and hospitals, the Government of India agencies, state government agencies, other foundations and international organisations in India
  • Represent the Foundation externally, building networks and maintaining relationships across relevant stakeholders
  • Contribute to, propose, and lead creation of documents (e.g., strategic, implementation, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, etc.)
  • Participate in virtual project teams, building relationships between NNF India Branch Office and the Novo Nordisk Foundation HQ
  • Ensure alignment of strategic activities across the India Office and support the learning and development of the team

Our India Engagement Plan focuses on four areas: health equity, biotechnology, medical science and a strengthened Danish-Indian bioscience ecosystem. Depending on your professional background, you will be a project member and coordinate closely with specific scientific programme areas located at the Foundation’s HQ.
