Sisse Marquina-Jongberg is a highly experienced food scientist currently serving as Senior Scientific Lead at Novo Nordisk Foundation since October 2019, where previous roles included Senior Scientific Manager, Scientific Manager, and Scientific Officer. Prior to this, Sisse held an Assistant Professor position at Institut for Fødevarevidenskab, KU FOOD, focusing on protein-polyphenol interactions in beer, and worked in various capacities at the University of Copenhagen, contributing to research on beer oxidation and protein protection in meat systems. Sisse's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Food Chemistry from the University of Copenhagen, along with a Master's and Bachelor's degree from Den Kgl. Veterinær- og Landbohøjskole. Additional research experiences include guest researcher roles at institutions such as Universidad de Extremadura and The Heart Research Institute, and a visiting scholar position at the University of California, Davis.
