Abdul Q. Sheikh

Abdul Q. Sheikh, PhD, currently serves as the Director of In Vivo Pharmacology at Novo Nordisk since September 2023. Prior to this role, Abdul Q. Sheikh was a Director at Vertex Pharmaceuticals from May 2022 to September 2023 and held positions at Pfizer from August 2016 to May 2022, including Senior Principal Scientist and Principal Scientist, where responsibilities included leading in vivo pharmacology efforts and developing strategies for pre-clinical drug discovery in pulmonary, cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases. Abdul Q. Sheikh's career began at Yale University, where as a post-doctoral fellow from 2012 to August 2016, key research involved the use of mouse models to study pulmonary hypertension and the molecular mechanics related to arterial muscularization. Abdul Q. Sheikh earned a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Cincinnati, building on a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Manchester.
