Mikael Egebjerg

Mikael Egebjerg, PhD, ERT, is a highly experienced toxicology specialist currently working at Novo Nordisk since April 2024, focusing on safety pharmacology and early toxicology. Previously, Mikael held the position of Senior Toxicologist at LEO Pharma from March 2019 to April 2024, where responsibilities included leading safety evaluations for drug discovery projects and managing safety studies at CROs. Mikael's earlier roles include serving as a toxicological advisor at the National Food Institute and a Lundbeck Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Copenhagen, contributing significantly to research in gene therapy, vaccines, and neurobiology. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Copenhagen and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School, alongside various visiting scientist experiences. Mikael is also a member of the Danish Society for Pharmacology, Toxicology and Medicinal Chemistry and holds certification as a European Registered Toxicologist.
