Isuru Karunaratne

Isuru Karunaratne has a diverse work experience in various industries. Isuru began their career as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Melwire Rolling (pvt) Ltd. in 2012. Isuru then worked as a Technical Assurance Engineer at Merbok MDF Lanka (PVT) Ltd. in 2014, before transitioning to the role of Mechanical Engineer at ATA International (pvt) Ltd. in the same year. In 2016, Isuru joined HKUST as a Doctoral Student and completed their studies in 2021. Isuru then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Eye and Vision Research from 2021 to 2022. Currently, Isuru holds the position of Bioengineering Scientist at Novoheart, starting in 2022.

Isuru Karunaratne completed their Bachelor of the Science of Engineering (B.Sc.(Hons)) degree in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Moratuwa. Isuru pursued further education and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
