Denisa C.

Denisa C. is a highly skilled toxicologist with extensive experience in both academic and industrial settings. Currently serving as a Senior Toxicologist at Novonesis since January 2024, Denisa previously held the same title at Novozymes from July 2017 to January 2024, where responsibilities included coordinating toxicological investigations and serving as a sponsor monitor for various studies. Prior to Novozymes, Denisa was a Professional at LEO Pharma A/S and a PhD student at the Technical University of Denmark, where research focused on improving International Standard Toxicity Guidelines related to nanoparticle aquatic toxicity. Earlier experience includes a role as a Guest Researcher at the US EPA, examining the pulmonary toxicity of engineered nanoparticles, and as a Chemist at BASF, where Denisa contributed to the development of automotive base coats. Denisa holds a PhD in Engineered Nanoparticle (Eco)Toxicity from the Technical University of Denmark, as well as an MSc in Environmental Chemistry and Health from the University of Copenhagen and a BS in Biochemistry from Oakland University.
