Brit Hanson

Brit Hanson is a skilled producer currently working at NPR as a producer on the Short Wave science podcast since September 2019. Prior to this role, Brit worked as a freelance contributor from 2012 to September 2019, producing content for various respected publications such as the New York Times and Washington Post. Roles as Senior Producer at Safe Space Radio and Digital & Special Projects Editor at St. Louis Public Radio highlight Brit's expertise in producing impactful radio shows and supervising digital journalism. As the first digital producer at North Country Public Radio, Brit innovated digital-first storytelling. Earlier experiences include developing social media strategies and serving as Director of Neighborhood Development for inCommon Community Development. Brit holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Urban Studies from Taylor University and furthered education at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and the Transom Online Workshop.
