Caitlin Thompson

Caitlin Thompson is an investigative reporter currently serving as a Roy W. Howard Fellow on the investigations team at NPR, a position held since January 2024. Prior to this, Caitlin worked at the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at ASU's Walter Cronkite School, leading a national environmental investigation while cultivating federal sources. Experience also includes data reporting for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and freelance reporting focused on immigration and inequality in Arizona. Previous roles encompass contributing writing for Coda Media, where Caitlin reported on surveillance and disinformation, and temporary reporting for NPR's 90.3 KAZU, among others. Caitlin's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Investigative Journalism from Arizona State University and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Tufts University, along with additional studies in Russian language and culture.
