Lidija Sekaric has a strong background in the energy industry, with extensive experience in innovation and emerging technologies. Lidija currently serves as the Vice President of Innovation and Emerging Technologies at NRECA, where they support cooperative utilities in their innovation journey and leads strategic analysis work. Prior to this, they held the role of Vice President at Fluence and Sunrun, focusing on product development, electrification, and grid services. Lidija also worked as the National Business Director for Distributed Energy at Siemens, overseeing their distributed energy division. Their earlier experiences include serving as the Director of the SunShot Initiative at the U.S. Department of Energy, where they played a key role in advancing solar energy programs. Lidija began their career as a Research Scientist at IBM, leading R&D projects in semiconductor structures and materials. Throughout their career, Lidija has demonstrated expertise in areas such as DERs, EVs, storage, microgrids, energy efficiency, and rate design, and has made significant contributions to the field of advanced technologies.
Lidija Sekaric has a PhD in Applied Physics from Cornell University. Lidija also completed Executive Education Coursework at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Lidija holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Bryn Mawr College. Additionally, they earned an IB Diploma from UWC-USA.
