Janelle Brooks

Janelle Brooks is a seasoned planning professional with extensive experience in environmental planning and policy development. Currently serving as a Senior Planning Policy Officer at the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment since January 2020, Janelle previously held a position as a Senior Strategic Planner at Georges River Council, where responsibilities included drafting the principal Georges River Local Environmental Plan and providing strategic planning advice. Earlier experience includes roles at Warringah Council, where Janelle managed significant planning projects and drafted planning documents, and at the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure as a Solicitor specializing in environmental and planning law. Janelle's legal background is further reinforced by tenure at Clayton Utz, initially as a Paralegal and subsequently as a Solicitor focused on real estate and government projects. Janelle holds a Master of Environmental Planning from Macquarie University and a combined Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology Sydney.
