Paul Barghouth, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning from 2008-2021. In 2008, they worked as an Independent Contractor for AnaNOitch. From 2009-2013, they worked as a Geothermal Engineer for VEIZADES & ASSOCIATES, INC. and as a Project Engineer for Medical Devices at Children’s Hospital Central California. From 2011-2019, they were a Doctoral Student at the University of California, Merced in the Cancer and Tissue Regeneration Laboratory, a Teaching Assistant, an Undergraduate Research Assistant, and a Research Assistant in Genetic Engineering. In 2019, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Radiation Oncology at Stanford University. Since 2021, they have been an Assay Development Scientist 3 and 2 at Nucleix Ltd., where they have been involved in the development of DNA QC metrics and controls for plasma derived cfDNA, the organization of projects for the generation of early lung cancer detection kits, the optimization of qPCR loci target screening methods, and the instrument intake and transfer to lab operations. Paul is also a Co-Founder of Tergis Technologies, a medical device start-up company focusing on the abatement of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs).

Paul Barghouth, PhD received their Bachelors of Sciences in Bioengineering from the University of California, Merced in 2013. Paul then went on to pursue their PhD in Quantitative and Systems Biology from the same university, which they completed in 2019. Following this, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow in Radiation Biology/Radiobiology at Stanford University. In 2020, they obtained a Medical Devices Certificate from UCSC Silicon Valley Extension.
