Shadi Barakat

Shadi Barakat is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in product development and instrumentation within the biomedical and diagnostics fields. Currently serving as a Senior Product Development Engineer at Nuclera since June 2022, Shadi previously co-founded AeroFT and holds the position of Director of Electronics and Analysis. Experience includes an Instrument Specialist role at Oxford Immunotec, where responsibilities involved designing components for lab automation instruments, and a tenure as a Product Development Engineer at DNA Electronics, focusing on the integration of biological and mechanical elements in diagnostic devices. Shadi’s early career included an internship at GSK, providing insights into global logistics and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Engineering in the same field from Queen Mary University of London.
