Chris Toukmaji

Chris Toukmaji is a Machine Learning Intern at Numerade and an NLP Researcher at JLab, engaged in advanced research on explainability in transformer models and multilingual word embeddings. Previous experience includes an AI Research Intern role at NASA, where Chris authored a first-author paper for AAAI-MAKE 2024, and a software engineering internship at Capital One, focusing on blockchain security solutions. Chris served as a teaching assistant for machine learning and NLP courses at UCSC, co-founded NeuroTechSC, and has held research roles at Tech4Good Lab and SapientX, where project work involved developing digital assistants and advanced language models. Chris is pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at UC Irvine, having earned a Bachelor of Science in the same field from UCSC.
