Lead Devops / Site Reliability Engineer (sre) at Numeral

Romain Cornu has over 8 years of work experience in the tech industry. In 2012, they began their career as a Teaching Assistant (Koala) at Epitech. In 2013, they became a Software Engineer at Itelios, where they designed, developed, and improved ASP.NET WebAPI, Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, and Windows 8.1 (Universal App) applications. Romain also acted as a guest speaker at TechDays 2014. In 2014, they joined Backelite as a DevOps Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), where they designed and managed infrastructures using Rancher, based in AWS, Azure, and on-premise. Romain also designed and maintained continuous integration and deployment pipelines handling mobile and web projects. Romain later became a Lead Software Engineer at Backelite, leading a team of 4 developers. In 2017, they joined OuiCar as Lead DevOps Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), where they led the infrastructure team on a complex migration from EngineYard (PaaS) to AWS, moving from a monolith into several frontends and more than 15 microservices. Romain then joined WINAMAX in 2019 as a DevOps Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), where they contributed to a complex migration from on-premise to AWS, moving hundreds of microservices. In 2021, they became a Co-founder at premierbloc and a DevOps Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at leboncoin, where they evolved and improved infrastructure, as-code using Terraform, based on AWS. Romain also designed and maintained continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Later in 2021, they became a DevOps Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Euler Herme, where they contributed to a complex data-oriented architecture on AWS. Romain also designed, developed, and improved infrastructure, as-code with Terraform and helped developers to design and optimize their Docker containers and Lambda functions. Currently, they are a Lead DevOps Engineer at Numeral, a payment operations automation platform for tech companies.

Romain Cornu obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from EPITECH - European Institute of Technology between 2009 and 2014. In 2013, they also obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from California State University San Marcos. In 2014, they were awarded the MCSD : Web applications certification from Microsoft.
