Valentin Nizhnik

Valentin Nizhnik is a highly accomplished financial engineer with extensive experience in structured products and derivatives risk management. Currently serving as a Senior Financial Engineer at Numerix since April 2022, Valentin develops tailored solutions for financial institutions, having successfully implemented market data bootstrapping and model calibration for diverse derivatives portfolios. Prior to this, Valentin held key roles such as Director of Structured Products at Sberbank, where responsibilities included expanding asset management strategies and enhancing trading processes, and Head of Structuring and Trading at BCS Global Markets, focusing on product line expansion and operational overhauls. Earlier experience includes leading the derivatives risk management team at FG BCS and serving as Principal Risk Officer at Otkritie, where frameworks for risk management and regulatory reporting were developed. Valentin holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics and System Programming from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.
