David Kornmann

David Kornmann has over 25 years of work experience in the software engineering field. In 1995, they began their career as a System Analyst at Stonesoft Oy. In 1998, they moved to Varian Medical Systems Finland as a Software Engineer, where they were responsible for the 3D models tessellation, decimation, and optimization for the Vision oncology treatment planning system. In 2000, they co-started Keyhole Inc as a Senior Software Engineer and was responsible for the development of the interactive whole earth 3D atlas called EarthViewer. In 2004, Keyhole was acquired by Google Inc, and David became a Staff Software Engineer for Niantic Labs, where they worked on early prototypes of Pokemon GO with Unity 3D, focusing mostly on client / server infrastructure and protocols. David was then promoted to Tech Lead & Manager for Google Earth Mobile, where they were responsible for the development of Google Earth on embedded systems. In 2015, David joined Niantic, Inc. as a Senior Staff Software Engineer, where they were Tech Lead and Manager responsible for the management of the Niantic Platform core team. David was responsible for designing, implementing, and armoring the native client layer using obfuscation, white box crypto, multi-layered security networks, tampering detection, etc. In 2022, they joined Nuna Inc. as Senior Director Of Engineering, where they are responsible for the management and development of the Care Applications engineering team.

David Kornmann attended ENIB from 1989 to 1994, where they studied Software Engineering and Computer Graphics.
