Mariana M. Llorens Zabala

Mariana M. Llorens Zabala is a Junior Research Fellow at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), focusing on the Training for Peace (TfP) Programme and the Effectiveness of Peace Operations Network since December 2021. Previously, Mariana served as a Resettlement and Protection Legal Advisor at St. Andrew's Refugee Services and contributed to the World Youth Academy as a Blog Contributor. An internship at the International Institute for Strategic Studies involved analyzing conflict security and development, specifically regarding Russia's influence in Africa. Mariana also taught English at Let’s Go Academy and gained experience at the Spanish Embassy - Cultural Office as an intern. Additional experience includes coordinating projects for Syrian refugee children with Acting for Change International and translating for TuttoPiccolo. Mariana holds an Advanced Studies degree in Terrorism and Security from UNIR, a Master's in International Human Rights Law from SOAS University of London, and a Bachelor's in Politics and International Relations from the University of Nottingham.
