Jennifer Beckstead

Jennifer Beckstead has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jennifer began their career as a College Intern at The Clorox Company, where they studied the biochemical applications of enzymes in laundry detergents and designed experiments for new laundry products. Jennifer then worked as an Audio/Visual Technical Support at UC Santa Barbara- Media Equipment, providing technical support in the field of audiovisual equipment.

In 2001, Jennifer joined Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute as a Senior Research Associate, where they played a crucial role in designing and executing structural and functional studies of apolipoproteins. Jennifer managed a team of 10+ laboratory personnel and coordinated laboratory operations, including ordering reagents and equipment.

Jennifer then transitioned to BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. as a Senior Research Associate, focusing on further research in their field. Jennifer joined the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland in 2017 in the same role, where they continued their research until 2020.

Most recently, Jennifer has been working at Nura Bio as a Scientist II, starting in August 2020. With their extensive experience and expertise, they contribute to the scientific research and development in their current role.

Jennifer Beckstead earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Cell & Developmental Biology from UC Santa Barbara, which they attended from 1997 to 2001. Jennifer pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science from San Francisco State University between the years 2003 and 2007. Later on, in 2016 and 2017, Jennifer completed a Project Management Certification Program at Chabot College, specializing in Project Management.
