Head Of Culture Investigation at The Nursing and Midwifery Council

Karen Lanlehin has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Karen began their career as a Trainee Solicitor at Mullinger Banks Solicitors, where they gained experience in housing and personal injury law. Karen later became a Solicitor at the same firm, specializing in housing law.

Karen then worked as a Practice Manager at Peel Chambers, where they set up and organized a niche barristers' chambers focusing on criminal law. Karen successfully communicated with various stakeholders to meet the Bar Council's standards.

Prior to that, Karen worked as a Police Station Advisor at Malcolm Legal Services, where they provided legal advice and support to individuals who had been arrested or detained by the police. Karen was responsible for obtaining advance disclosure, advising on legal elements, and addressing procedural matters.

Karen's experience also includes working as a Litigation Assistant at the London Borough of Wandsworth, where they handled various stages of litigation and debt recovery on behalf of a large local authority.

Karen then transitioned to the field of health and social care, working as an International Team Manager at the Nursing and Midwifery Council. In this role, they managed a large international registrations team, provided guidance and leadership, and ensured the delivery of excellent customer service. Karen also held the position of Senior International Assessment Officer, where they led a team of administrators through changes to support the wider team more effectively.

Additionally, Karen has worked in business change and improvement roles at the Nursing and Midwifery Council, where they developed and implemented change approaches, identified and engaged stakeholders, and led process improvement activities.

Currently, Karen works as the Head of Culture Investigation at the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Karen is responsible for investigating and addressing cultural issues within the organization.

Outside of their main roles, Karen has served as a Co-opted School Governor at Harlow Fields School & College, and they have also been involved in employee network leadership and employee support initiatives at the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Overall, Karen Lanlehin has a wide range of experience in legal, organizational, and managerial roles, with a focus on promoting cultural change, business improvement, and stakeholder engagement.

Karen Lanlehin completed their Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Wolverhampton from 1995 to 1996. Prior to that, they obtained their LLB (Hons) degree in Law from the same university from 1991 to 1995. In addition to their formal education, Karen Lanlehin has also obtained various certifications, including PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation & Practitioner from The Knowledge Academy in August 2019, Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from The Knowledge Academy in 2019, and Prosci Practitioner from Prosci in 2018.
