Chief Development Officer at Nurture The Next

Melanie B. Scott has a diverse work experience in the non-profit sector. Melanie B. most recently served as the Chief Development Officer at Nurture The Next, starting in August 2019 and continuing to the present. Prior to that, they held the same role at Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee from June 2016 to June 2020. In this position, they led and directed the fundraising efforts of the organization, built a broad support base, and promoted the organization to the community. Earlier in their career, Melanie worked at STARS, where they held the roles of Director of New Initiatives from August 2011 to June 2016 and Program Director from 2001 to June 2016. In these positions, they represented and promoted STARS, served on committees, coordinated partnerships, supervised staff, and created educational programs.

Melanie B. Scott attended Father Ryan High School from 1992 to 1996. Melanie B. then went on to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from 1997 to 2000. In addition to their education, Melanie has obtained certifications in Stewards of Children from Darkness to Light in 2014 and Trainer in Restorative Practices from the International Institute for Restorative Practices.
