Shima Gholizadeh, PhD is currently working at Nutcracker Therapeutics since January 2023 as the Lead Chemist, focusing on discovery chemistry & delivery technology. Prior to this, Shima worked at Illumina as a Staff Scientist, and at UCLA Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry as a Staff Scientist. Shima holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Utrecht University, where Shima specialized in designing and synthesizing innovative monomers and block co-polymers for drug delivery. Shima's expertise also includes developing surface functionalized polymeric nanoparticles for targeted delivery of various molecules. With a strong background in organic synthesis, polymer chemistry, drug delivery, and various analytical techniques, Shima has made significant contributions to the field of pharmaceutical chemistry.
