Ketan Desai MD PhD has a long and varied work experience in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. Ketan began their career in 1997 as the Director of Clinical Development at PPD Pharmaco. Ketan then moved to SmithKline Beecham as the Director of Rheumatology and Oncology in 1998. In 2001, they became the Global Clinical Director at Aventis Pharmaceuticals. Ketan then joined Biothera Pharma as the Chief Medical Officer in 2004, and also served as the Vice President of Pre-Clinical and Clinical Development at Neose Technologies in the same year. In 2006, they founded IMC Radiology and served as the CEO. Ketan was the Chairman of the Board and inventor of products for acne, hair loss, wrinkles, sun spots, etc. at Omega Skin Solutions Inc. from 2011 to 2013. In 2017, they became the Co-Founder of Nutent Therapeutics, Inc. and invented a nutraceutical with increased bio-availability. Ketan has been the Chief Medical Officer at Levolta Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since 2013.
Ketan Desai MD PhD began their education in 1979, when they obtained their MBBS from the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC). Ketan then went on to pursue a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, which they completed in 1992. Following this, they completed an MD in Medicine from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1995. After this, they completed a Fellowship in Immunology from Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in 1987. Ketan also attended Baylor College of Medicine from 1995 to 1997, though no degree was obtained.
