Maarten Bijl

Maarten Bijl has extensive work experience in various leadership positions in different companies. Maarten is currently the Managing Director of the livestock feed business in North America at Nutreco, where they lead a team of approximately 1600 colleagues and oversees 21 feed production locations, 3 hatcheries, and a network of farms and retail stores. Prior to this, they served as the Managing Director of Trouw Nutrition Canada at Nutreco.

Before joining Nutreco, Maarten held leadership positions at SHV Energy, where they served as the CEO of SHV Energy China, managing a team of 5000 colleagues and achieving significant revenue growth. Maarten also served as the CEO of Primagaz Benelux, overseeing the operations of Primagaz in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Additionally, Maarten worked at ERIKS as the Director of Global Strategic Projects, supporting the company's strategic transformation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Maarten also worked at TNT N.V. as the Manager of Corporate Strategy, leading strategic initiatives for the company's board and overseeing the annual strategic planning process.

Maarten Bijl has a diverse education history. In 1995, they began their studies at the Delft University of Technology, where they obtained a MSc in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in Astrodynamics in 2003. Following this, in 2009, they pursued an Executive MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, completing it in 2010.

In 2019, Maarten obtained the International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (IGC 1,2,3) from NEBOSH. Most recently, in 2022, they enrolled in a Chief Digital Officer program offered by MIT Professional Education, obtaining a Blended Professional Certificate in Chief Digital Officer. Additionally, they completed various other certifications in areas like Data Leadership, Digital Platforms, Blockchain, and Digital Transformation from MIT Professional Education in 2023.
