Andrew Schafer

Andrew Schafer has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Andrew is currently working as a Software Technical Lead at Nutromics since 2022. Prior to that, they held various positions at Australia Post, including Principal Security Architect from October 2017 to January 2022, Principal Architect - People & Culture from May 2016 to October 2017, and Infrastructure Architect, Data Centre and Cloud Transformation Program from April 2013 to May 2016. Before joining Australia Post, Andrew worked at Telstra as a Solution Designer from September 2011 to March 2013. Andrew also worked at the Department of Health as a Senior Infrastructure Architect from September 2009 to September 2011. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Technical Project Manager at Hewlett-Packard from December 2007 to September 2009, an Infrastructure Architect at BSkyB from September 2005 to April 2007, an Infrastructure Consultant at Hewlett-Packard Australia from July 2004 to February 2005, and an Infrastructure Specialist at Hutchison 3G (3) from June 2001 to December 2003. Andrew started their career as a Support Engineer at Hewlett-Packard Australia from February 1998 to March 2001 and briefly worked as a Systems Administrator at La Trobe Language Centre from July 1997 to November 1997. Andrew Schafer has a diverse education history. Andrew attended Deakin University from 2002 to 2004 and obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration. Prior to that, they studied at Swinburne University of Technology from 1998 to 2000 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Business. Earlier in their educational journey, Andrew attended Swinburne University of Technology from 1995 to 1997 and received a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology.

In addition to their formal education, Andrew has also obtained several certifications. In March 2021, they became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) through (ISC)². In December 2017, they obtained the SAFe 4 Agilist certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. In January 2013, they completed the Computing for Data Analysis course on Coursera. In January 2005, Andrew obtained the ITIL Foundation Certificate. In April 2016, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate Level through Amazon Web Services. Lastly, in February 2007, they achieved the Certified PRINCE2 Practitioner certification from APMG-International.
