Nathan Laan

Nathan Laan is a seasoned technology manager and software engineering professional with extensive leadership experience in diverse, globally-distributed teams. Currently serving as the Technology Manager for Software Engineering at nVent since January 2020, Nathan oversees Thermal Product Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, DevOps, SRE, and Data & Analytics practices, focusing on IoT and cloud-based SaaS systems. Previously, Nathan held multiple key roles, including Manager of Software Engineering at Edmonton Police Service and Principal Consultant at Laan Consulting, where Nathan emphasized Product Development and Cybersecurity. With a background in startups as a Founder and CTO, Nathan also has experience in academia as a part-time Sessional Lecturer. Nathan holds an MSc in Computing and Information Science from Athabasca University and a BSc Honors in Computing Science from The King's University.
