Viraj S. Chavan

Viraj S. Chavan is an accomplished Senior Director of Cloud Engineering at NVIDIA, leading the technical direction and team expansion for NVIDIA's Distributed Deep Learning Cloud Platform since November 2016. Chavan's leadership drove the growth of the team from 8 to over 100 engineers globally, managing multiple software development and engineering teams across various functions. Prior to NVIDIA, Chavan held various senior engineering positions at Yahoo! Inc. from 2004 to 2016, contributing to innovative projects such as "Quick Answers," the Yahoo! Knowledge Graph, and mobile email monetization, impacting millions of users. Chavan's earlier experience includes research roles in biometric data encryption and barcode design for USPS, along with freelance software development. Chavan holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai.
