Julie Richardson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Julie is currently working as a Principal Solutions Lead, Literacy at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt since May 2023. Prior to this, they held the same position at NWEA starting from February 2023.
Julie has a strong background in education and content development. Julie worked at NWEA for nine years, starting as an Editor, ELA in August 2012 before progressing to roles such as Content Specialist I, Content Specialist II, and Sr. Content Specialist in ELA. Julie'sexpertise in this field also led their to take on the role of Content Lead, ELA from July 2020 to February 2023.
Before joining NWEA, Julie worked as an Item Writer and Editor, ELA at NWEA from August 2008 to June 2012. Prior to that, they worked as an Assessment Scorer, ELA at Pearson from August 2008 to December 2011. Julie's early career consisted of teaching High School English Language Arts and Journalism at the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District from September 2001 to June 2007.
Julie Richardson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Information Technology from the University of California, San Diego from 1988-1992. Julie also obtained a Teaching Credential in English/Language Arts and ESOL (Grades 6-12) from National University from 1998-2002. In addition, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Educational Technology from National University from 1998-1999.
