Joe Gaboury

Director - Indigenous Engagement at NWMO

Joe Gaboury has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Joe began their career in 1991 at Ontario Power Generation, where they held various roles for 15 years. In 2006, they became the CEO of Attawapiskat Resources Inc., a position they held until 2008. From 2009 to 2010, they served as the Chief Executive Officer of Five Nations Energy Inc. Following this, they joined Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. as the Director of Aboriginal Affairs from 2010 to 2014. In 2014, they became the Associate Vice President at Ishkonigan and then transitioned to the role of Director of Indigenous Engagement at Nuclear Waste Management Organization in 2015, where they currently work.

Joe Gaboury has a diverse educational background. Joe obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Laurentian University/Université Laurentienne between 1986 and 1990. In 1994 and 1999, they pursued further education at the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), earning a CPA certification in Accounting. Lastly, from 2003 to 2006, Joe attended the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, where they completed their Masters in Business Administration.
